The Similan Islands
Thr Similan Islands is a group of nine islands with a tenth island considered anhonorary member of a group. Althought the Similan Islands are not as dramatic as the limestoneisland
of Phang-nga Bay,they have become just as popular in their own right because of the low-lying formations covered with thick forests of ironwood and gum trees.
One of the most attractive feature of the island is that many of the white coral-sand beaches are often deserted. Many tourists appreciate their privacy and they come to the Similanslands to find private, deserted beaches where they can enjoy sunbathing, swiming, and snorkeling.
The water depth averages 30-45 meters, but it can drop down to 70-80 methers between
the islands making the waters surrounding the islands popular with drivers from all over the
world. But,for those who do not drive, there arecoral gardens in the water at ddepths of only
6-7 methers.the feature makes the islands popular with swimmers of all abilities.
So, if you are looking for the excitement and natural beauty that can only be found in the
found in the clean unspoiled waters of the ocean, come to the Similan Islands.
